De-nazification in regional comparison

The provincial archive of Vorarlberg and the archives of the City of Linz undertook a research project on the topic „De-nazification in regional comparison“ to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Second Republic and 50 years since the end of the occupation and signing of the constitution.

Repression of and coming to terms with Austria's National Socialist past has been a focal point for historical research and the public eye for several years. Correspondingly, in reviewing the Second Republic's relationship to national socialism, the question of de-nazification is a significant one. The aim of the project was to give a grand account of de-nazification in Austria, especially from the point of view of the provinces and the Allied occupation. A comprehensive volume of research was published by the archives of the City of Linz.
