Although after 1945, Langoth did not change one iota of his opinions,
he enjoyed a considerable reputation among both SPÖ (Socialist Party)
and ÖVP (People's Party) politicians.
He was regarded as a "good Nazi", who one did not wish to make jointly responsible for the NS tyranny. In 1973, this fatal attitude led to the naming of the "Langothstraße" in Linz.
In 1986, the street reverted back to its original name of "Kaisergasse".
