Following the establishment of the undemocratic "Ständestaat", Langoth represented the interests of the National Socialist movement, which was forbidden in Austria.
To this end, he used his excellent contacts to decision-makers at federal and provincial level.
He created the "Hilfswerk Langoth" (welfare service), which provided NS activists in Austria with financial assistance.
The "Hilfswerk" was largely tolerated by the Schuschnigg government, but played a decisive role in furthering the "Anschluss" of Austria with the National Socialist German Reich.
