The US occupying forces arrested the leading
NS official Langoth and interned him in Glasenbach until 1947.
The Austrian denazification process was considerably more lenient. Despite
the fact that under war criminal legislation, and in particular due to
his activities as a "Volksgerichtshof" (People's Court) judge, Langoth
could have been subject to criminal proceedings, no charges were preferred.
Following a variety of political intervention, Langoth was amnestied by
the federal president at the end of 1950.
